The 52 sits neatly between the slippery 46 - Tom Hill’s Dido hit 21.5 knots on a surf in the BCYC regatta - and the 56, and is built in wood epoxy like her sisters. She displaces only eight tonnes, which is ultra-light for such a performance cruising yacht...

Spirit 52 Classic

Comfort and exhilaration in equal measure

The Spirit 52 is the perfect bridge between the comfort and accommodation of the Spirit 56 and the exhilarating performance of the Spirit 46. The yacht offers the perfect combination of race-winning performance married to the superior levels of comfort and elegance that are the hallmarks of all the Spirit range.

Arguably the most elegant of the medium-sized Spirits, the 52′ is superb for cruising and regatta racing. With two double cabins, each with en-suite and a charming saloon, which enjoys plenty of natural light and proves a further two comfortable saloon berths, the 52′ is also ideal for entertaining friends and family.

With a well-equipped galley and nav area, as well as plenty of stowage for sails and cruising equipment the Spirit 52′ is designed for both performance racing and relaxed cruising.

“Spirit 52’s have had fantastic success on the regatta circuit; they offer the perfect balance for family cruising and competitive racing.”

- Spirit Yachts CEO and head designer Sean McMillan

Displacing just eight tonnes, the Spirit 52 has a hull form of elegant proportions, but her beauty is not just skin deep. With the usual Spirit attributes of minimal wetted surface and an astonishing power to weight ratio, she is an outstanding performer both as an extremely comfortable fast cruiser and as a regatta star. Off the wind performance up to around 16 knots in suitable conditions is complemented by a close-winded nine knots upwind – truly a sailor’s delight.

The exterior shows all the classic features that have attracted admirers wherever Spirits sail. The low bulwarks, richly varnished cappings and elegantly swept taffrail frame a deck that is spacious yet practical to move around. All the normal controls are led aft to the cockpit and the option of powered handling can be applied to any equipment enhancing the existing ease of single-handing if required. Accommodation is traditional or contemporary and split between a twin cabin forward with en-suite facilities and a beautiful double cabin aft, also with en-suite.

In between is the elegant saloon – open plan with the superbly equipped galley and the navigation station, which of course has space for the most comprehensive equipment specification. Storage is plentiful and flexible, including copious space in the lazarette. The Spirit 52 embodies all that is quintessentially Spirit. Superb good looks, the very best quality, and the perfectly responsive handling of a true thoroughbred.
